Ideally located for exploring Whitby’s historic old town and east side, it is situated in Kiln Yard, one of Whitby’s famous yards off Church Street, yet very close to the Market Place and it’s thriving restaurants, pubs, cafes and shopping experience.

Kiln Yard is situated at the foot of the famous 199 Steps leading up to St. Mary’s Church and the magnificent jewel that is Whitby Abbey.

Within The cottage accommodation, you’ll also find a washer and a well-equipped kitchen including a fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. With a spacious living area, 40” Smart TV and USB sockets placed around the cottage .– you can rest assured that you will have all the amenities you could need during a self-catering break.

The sumptuous double bedroom benefits from comfortable luxury mattresses – an excellent night’s sleep is almost guaranteed. You also have your 32 inch smart Tv in the bedroom to enjoy those late night movies from the comfort of your luxury bedroom.

Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 10am. There is a £50 charge for checking in early or checking out late. Please contact us to arrange this prior to your stay.

Parking: There is no parking at Bensons Gem Cottage but you can drive up for loading and unloading your luggage etc. As you will appreciate Whitby in peak periods is extremely busy and parking can be a hassle! In some cases the nearest public car park to Bensons Cottage may be a 15 minute walk away.

There is free parking close by along Church Street past the Fleece Public House but you would be lucky depending on what time of day you arrive. There is also a Pay and Display car park opposite The Endeavour Public House on Church Street.

Long Stay parking is available over the bridge at Endeavour Wharf (opp. Co-op/Trenchers). More info can be found here: https://www.scarborough.gov.uk/home/parking

Long stay parking permits are available from Whitby Tourist Information Tel: 01723 383636 They are available for 2 days upwards and cost £8 per 24 hours. The permits are transferrable between all SBC (Scarborough Borough Council) car parks so if you have a day at Robin Hoods Bay or Scarborough etc. The same permit can be used at no extra cost!
